Validation concept · independent verdict: VALIDATE FIRST

A private articulation practice idea

What if feedback began with your words, not a score?

VoiceMirror proposes a three-minute practice loop: speak, confirm an editable transcript, inspect one evidence-linked focus, then try one drill.

No working product exists yet. This page tests whether the loop is worth building before anyone commits to the infrastructure behind it.

Proposed session model Not a live product

“Explain a small decision you made and what changed.”

00:06

I want to give some context first. We had been discussing the schedule for a while, and the decision was to move the review earlier so we could act on it.

One possible focus State the decision before the background.
Your transcript stays authoritative.Example ≠ replacement

Private enough to speak candidly.

Useful enough to return tomorrow.

01 / The question

The problem is plausible. The habit is not proven.

People can record themselves, ask a friend, hire a human coach, join a speaking club, or use an AI speaking app. What may still be missing is a low-pressure way to connect the exact words they used to one credible next action.

But there are no interviews, diaries, behavioral baselines, or repeat-use results for VoiceMirror. The independent review found that building first would be the wrong sequence.

A

Voice recorder

Faithful and private, but self-review is manual.

B

Human coach or club

Nuanced and socially real, but scheduled and less private.

C

AI speaking tools

Convenient, but evidence, correction, privacy, and score transparency vary.

02 / Proposed loop

One session. Six deliberate handoffs.

Every handoff preserves a boundary: permission before capture, confirmation before analysis, evidence before judgment, and user authority before any lasting action.

03 / Experience model

Evidence should be inspectable, and absence should be allowed.

A proposed example never overwrites the transcript and must be omitted if it changes meaning.

04 / Difference to test

Narrower by design. Not unique by assertion.

Orai already advertises brief practice and one concrete fix. Yoodli offers broad roleplay and MCP connectivity. VoiceMirror’s remaining thesis must be demonstrated in tasks, not declared as a moat.

Directional comparison based on the reviewed dossier; competitors were not hands-on tested.

05 / Trust boundary

The useful limits are part of the product idea.

Local-first does not automatically mean private or secure. A future implementation would still need to prove capture behavior, encryption, deletion, model licensing, device compatibility, and protection at the browser-to-local-service boundary.

Proposed, not implemented. These are constraints for validation and any later build—not current capabilities.

  • No medical or clinical use

No diagnosis, treatment, or health-impacting action.

  • No accent scoring

No ranking pronunciation, identity, personality, emotion, or employability.

  • No meeting capture

No ambient, background, covert, or multi-party recording.

  • No autonomous publishing

No posting, messaging, money movement, or public action.

Optional agent connection · later gate

A narrow tool belt, not a master key.

An agent connection is deferred. If it ever ships, it would use product-specific grants, expiry, exact in-product approval for final writes, and receipts.

06 / Add a local signal

Would this earn a place in your actual week?

This is not a waitlist. Use the short prompt to record your own reaction on this device. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Strong signal

“I already rehearse this way, and this removes a specific pain.”

Useful no

“I only practice before events,” “my current tool is enough,” or “I would not record myself.”

Local prototype: your response is stored on this device only using browser storage. It is not submitted, synced, or analyzed.

When would you most likely practice speaking?
